CIC - Cebu commemorates the 84th founding anniversary of the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP). The association carries its advocacies to enable students to become better members of society through dialogue and collaboration.
The celebration began with a prayer service, with thanksgiving to God for the gift of Filipino Catholic Education and asking guidance to actively engage with the realities of society. To further promote the JEEPGY advocacy, a few chosen Inmaculadistas, along with some of the LaMPs, showcased the six pillars. JEEPGY stands for Justice and Peace, Ecological Integrity, Engaged Citizenship, Poverty Alleviation, Gender Equality, and Youth Empowerment. They shared important insights that gave the students an avenue to realize its importance, and to help promote values that CEAP upholds, as it calls all to work collaboratively for a better tomorrow as agents of transformation.
The Flying Geese Dance Troupe performed a dynamic and empowering performance to the song “Isang Huwarang Katoliko”, leaving the students with an insightful mind and a transformative outlook towards the amelioration of society. Finally, the Vincentianong Maserbisyo members put up informational booths to offer a wider perspective of the JEEPGY, and to tread the path of transformation towards a better society.
May this day remind each one of the gift God has bestowed on us through Catholic education, and may we strive to advance the CEAP thrusts to build communities with love and hope for the future.
